Web Editor Supervisor, Korean Service


Radio Free Asia (RFA) is a private, Washington, DC-based, nonprofit corporation that provides accurate and timely news and information to Asian countries whose governments prohibit access to a free press. Delivered in nine Asian languages in addition to English, our journalism extends beyond radio to include web, video, mobile and e-books.

RFA is currently seeking a talented, dynamic, and versatile Web Editor Supervisor for its Korean Service to supervise the Service’s Web Editor team and participate directly in the management and updating of RFA Korean’s website as well as the promotion of its content. This position will be based in RFA’s Washington, DC, offices.

Responsibilities Include

  • Selects and creatively promotes content from RFA's broadcasts on the Service’s Web site, and assists RFA's broadcasters, editors, and Web editors in creating and posting on-line content.
  • Develops, maintains, and applies Web editorial policy and ensures that content complies with the journalistic style of RFA’s Web site. Provides oversight to help ensure that on-line postings contain no wrong characters or inconsistencies in style of presentation.
  • Monitors user traffic, analyzes trends, and communicates with the Service to ensure that feedback is transmitted to the broadcasters and editors.
  • Contributes to on-going Web development by bringing forward creative and innovative features and means to bring users to rfa.org.
  • Supervises performance of Service’s Web Editor.
  • Keeps abreast of developments in the field, with a particular focus on the Service’s target audience and provides guidance to staff in upgrading Web site design and functionality.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Prior journalism experience preferred, as is experience working with content management systems. 
  • Must have experience with Photoshop, video editing, and writing HTML and Web/Social media content.  
  • High degree of discipline, creativity, and organization.
  • Strong team player who is at ease with new technology.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated skills in creating appealing visuals and managing digital content on various online platforms. 
  • Language Skill Requirements: Fluency in written and spoken Korean language, proficiency in English.
